I love sharing book giveaways! This one is for the mystery lovers — all kinds, including cozy, hard-boiled, police procedural and more. Full books filled with tons of action and suspense, all for free. Come meet your next favorite author today 🙂
The new cover is out for book three, Ashkettle Fierce.
That’s Bo on the front, looking handsome but … fierce 🙂
The updated version of the book includes the prequel Downers. If you’ve read it, consider giving it a review over on Amazon 🙂
Do you take advantage of giveaways? If you don’t, today is the day to begin 🙂 I’ve just joined Bookfunnel, and let me say this — I LOVE IT. Via Bookfunnel, you can find your next favorite author for free.
Why do authors list their books for free?
A lot of work goes into writing a novel. If it’s free, apparently it’s not worth reading.
We offer our books for free to find new audiences who might just love us. Word-of-mouth is still the best form of advertising, after all. And while not all authors subscribe to this theory, some of us still do.
Also, I just like making people happy 🙂
I discovered one of my favorite authors in this way. I was broke but fiending for something to read, so I perused the free section on my Kindle. Low and behold, there was an intriguing offering up from Scott William Carter, called The Gray and Guilty Sea. I downloaded it, loved it, and now I buy all his Oregon Coast Mysteries. His book is still running free if you like curmudgeonly detectives and gorgeous, moody settings. (YOU MUST, YOU MUST!) Here’s the link: The Gray and Guilty Sea.
My own book, Ashkettle Crazy, is running free today on Bookfunnel. You can pick it up here: Thrillers That Thrill. You can pick up 48 other mesmerizing thrillers at that link as well. Opting in for the free book nets you entrance to the individual author’s newsletter, where you’ll get the chance to follow the ones who become your favorites.
And if you download a book you don’t like? You’re not stuck receiving emails from that author forever. Unsubscribing is as easy as clicking a button 🙂
I hope you’ll stop in and see what’s up for grabs. I’ve downloaded a ton since the giveaway started, stocking up for this summer when I have a free moment, a blanket, and my favorite pine tree to linger beneath. His name is Piney, and he lives in our backyard. When my daughter was little, she had a friendship necklace that was two necklaces — each one side of a heart. She wore one and hung the other around Piney’s lowest branch.
Yes, we’re just that crazy about pine trees here 🙂
We’re that crazy about free books too.
Oh, and one final word? If you read a book and love it, please review it on Amazon. We’ll heart you forever!

The Tenth Proclamation is a serialized novel that’s publishing, chapter by chapter.
You get to read it as it’s being written!
This is a new jumping-off point for me, so I’d love your support. If it sounds interesting, please share the link with any friends who enjoy reading dystopian fiction.
I’ll love you lots!
Only this, and nothing more 😉
Shaw’s Obsession is part of a romantic suspense giveaway over on Instafreebie this month. It would be a great time to go grab a nice long excerpt for free, just to see if you’ll like the book 🙂
You’ll find 21 other books from amazing, new authors there too — all written around the themes of romance and suspense. It’s absolutely free to claim your favorites. Some are excerpts like mine, some may be full books — all for free.
Giveaways like these help introduce passionate readers to up-and-coming new authors who want to get their names out there, and sometimes, they help you find your next favorite book series.
So what are you waiting for? Go check them out, and maybe you’ll make a new book friend for life!
Hey guys 🙂
Books 1-3 are getting cover upgrades! Let me know what you think of the new artwork that features full, wrap-around covers in paperback, as well as high-resolution images of the boys:
The new covers feature reviews on the back and an inclusive theme that ties them all together so you know which series you’re getting and also, which book. Stay tuned for the revamped version of Fierce that’s currently in production. I’ll post it here as soon as it becomes available.
Shaw’s Obsession, the next book in the Ashkettle Boys Saga is currently available in ebook and paperback. Here’s the skinny:
Katherine Galway’s life changed forever when her 16-year-old brother was abducted and brutally murdered by a killer who was never found.
Eight years later, Katherine is a correctional psychologist, working with the U.S. Parole Commission to keep violent offenders off the streets.
But one man slips by her, her recommendation overruled.
Shaw McAllister, in prison for the kidnapping and assault of young Dack Ashkettle, suddenly gains his freedom, and Katherine knows exactly what his intentions are – to enact his own brand of vigilante justice against the boy who testified against him.
But this time, Katherine plans to stop the carnage before it can decimate another innocent family.
She’ll warn the Ashkettle brothers that trouble is coming.
And she’ll stop a killer before he can harm another teenage boy.
Or she’ll damned well die trying.
It’s a nail-biter, and one you won’t want to miss, so get your copy today. You can buy it here:
In the meantime, come join us over on Facebook where we’re talking about the boys, previewing cover art and having a great time. Even better, come join our ARC TEAM!
